MARAZION is probably better known as the resort which contains the imposing, but fairy tale, St. Michael's Mount.

The castle is reached via a causeway at low tide, and by a gentle boat ride at high tide.

MARAZION village is ideal for a family holiday. The long sandy beach is very safe, facilities for sailing and windsurfing are excellent.

Marazion has a wide variety of small shops, pubs and eating places. A Tescos and Safeway superstores are only a couple of miles away.

Our holiday cottage is centrally situated in Marazion and within easy walking distance of all facilities.

There is also an excellent playground only 2 minutes from our holiday cottage.

The village is a good base for exploring the beautiful West Penwith peninsular of Cornwall, and the Lizard. The places mentioned here are all within a 10 mile radius of Marazion, and there are many, many more besides:

PENZANCE, just 3 miles away, is noted for its mix of Regency and Georgian architecture. There are many antique shops, artists studios, a sub-tropical garden, a recently re-furbished open air pool, as well as boutiques and restaurants. A helicopter flight leaves Penzance on regular trips along the coast and to the Scilly Isles.

ST. IVES is the home of many famous artists, sculptors and potters. There are three beautiful beaches, ideal for surfing and an attractive fishing port. The narrow winding streets house many unusual shops and a craft market. The new Tate Gallery overlooks Porthmeor Beach.

LANDS END is part of the coastal footpath, there are many entertainment facilities, and also beautiful walks in the area. A short stroll leads to SENNEN, another outstanding surfing beach.

PORTHCURNO is one of the most beautiful coves, with sand made from tiny shells. More isolated beaches are only a short walk over the cliffs. At the nearby Minack Cliff Theatre open air productions take place throughout the Summer.

MOUSEHOLE and NEWLYN are lively fishing ports. Mousehole is tiny, and very picturesque. Newlyn has a long established art and craft colony, a good Art Gallery, and wonderful ice cream!

HELSTON and the LIZARD offer spectacular scenery as well as the popular attractions of Flambards theme park and the Gweek seal sanctuary.
